Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced hands-on Corporate Controller with a demonstrated history of enabling success in a variety of high growth environment startups in several industries. Skilled in Revenue Recognition, NetSuite/Quickbooks, Salesforce.com, SaaS, Payroll, HR, Treasury Management, Inventory Management, Internal Controls, Auditing and Taxes.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Owns the monthly financial closing process, including all associated reconciliations 
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting operational functions
  • Payroll review, reconciliation, reporting and date entry. Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
  • Revenue Recognition accounting and deferred revenue schedule maintenance coordinating activities of external auditors
  • Invoicing, purchase orders, and payable and receivables management, including collections
  • Managing corporate credit card transactions
  • Production of monthly flash reports
  • Maintenance of cash schedules and cash flow forecast
  • Maintenance of Cap Table and associated option grant and stock-base compensation accounting
  • Coordinate/manage activities of external providers such as insurance, banking, CPA firm
  • Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process
  • Assist in managing the budget and forecasting process
  • Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
  • Evaluate accounting and internal control systems
  • Administer and manage operating systems such as QuickBooks, Bill.com, Fishbowl, and Expensify. Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed 
  • Reconcile inventory and managing COGS
  • Oversee regulatory reporting, frequently including state/municipality filings as well as Federal filing tax planning and compliance

Experience/Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance or related discipline
  • 10+ years of accounting experience in a technology/manufacturing business required
  • Experience driving accounting processes, reporting, and systems in support of startup environment
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with stakeholders in Finance, Legal, Services, and Sales and an ability to continuously improves processes and develop efficiencies
  • Experience in developing and improving financial systems which produce useful operating metrics
  • Advanced quantitative skills with a passion for using date to drive better decision-making
  • Strong track record of building and managing successful teams
  • Excellent presentation and communication with C-level executives
  • Hands-on approach with attention to detail, organization, reliability, and a "get it done" attitude
