The Business Development Representative is a critical function in our growing company, contributing significantly to our sales and marketing goals by helping to produce and qualify leads for hand-off to the external sales team. Using internet research techniques and sales & marketing tools you will identify, contact, and qualify target industrial leads to expand the sales funnel. You will make the initial contact and manage preliminary follow-up with targets, schedule discovery meetings for the external sales team, as well as record, with detailed precision, the results of your questioning and qualifying into our customer relationship management (CRM) system. You will find our next customer!

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Move qualified leads through the sales funnel via strategic account mapping, proactive cold calling, and emailing
  • Qualify prospects in terms of their needs, goals, and business environment
  • Coordinate with Sales & Marketing teams to improve sales strategies and further qualify sales leads
  • Track all activities through Salesforce and create a weekly report on industry trends, pipeline, and conversation highlights
  • Shorten our sales cycle by accelerating and setting the discovery meeting process for our external sales team 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of related work experience
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding listening skills
  • Self-motivated with key critical characteristics of intelligence, passion, proactive, competitiveness
  • Ability to accurately value and quickly develop positive relationships with individuals from varied experience levels and backgrounds
  • Comfortable discussing technology and technological concepts
  • Effective time management skills
  • Driven to meet and exceed goals, objectives and sales targets
  • Organized with strong attention to detail
  • Inquisitive learner
  • Previous B2B BDR or Sales experience preferred
  • Previous Salesforce.com and/or Hubspot experience preferred
