We are looking for a strong Senior SQA (Software Quality Assurance) Engineer to lead the system and software testing efforts at Soft Robotics.  In this role you will work closely with a cross functional team of Hardware, Software, Firmware, Applications Engineers and Product Management to deliver high quality products for our customers. 

 

As a Senior SQA Engineer, you will be driving the effort to verify that our products meet the product specifications, both at the system and software level.  You will devise testing strategies, including both manual and automated approaches, develop test cases, perform test execution, and create test reports.  In addition, you will develop the necessary test fixtures and scripts to automate data collection and generation of system performance metrics. 

 

Successful candidates will have a demonstrated track record in SQA and/or System Test automation roles, ideally in a startup environment.  You will have experience testing complex, hardware based systems, ideally robotic systems or industrial automation equipment.  You will be comfortable working in a Linux based development environment and have experience with a variety of scripting languages, data acquisition, and automation tools.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop testing strategies, including both manual and automated approaches, to verify product functionality meets the desired specifications
  • Analyze and communicate system and software product quality risks throughout the development lifecycle
  • Design test cases to cover both product level and software specific functionality
  • Perform test execution, both ad hoc and test cases, and document results
  • Devise automated strategies to collect data and calculate system performance metrics.  Develop reports to be reviewed by the engineering team and management
  • Develop and run automated testing scripts 
  • Capture defects in JIRA and assist with bug triage
  • Drive improvements to current requirements and system documentation

 

Who You’ll Be

  • 7+ years experience in SQA and/or System Test automation roles
  • BS in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline
  • Experience devising a testing strategy, test case design, execution, and reporting
  • Experience with data acquisition and analysis tools
  • Experience with test automation frameworks
  • Programming experience required.  Ability to develop and execute automation scripts in bash, Python, etc. 
  • Experience working in a Linux based development environment
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and various test case management software
  • Experience with Git version control
  • Experience testing industrial automation and/or robotic systems a plus
  • Startup experience is a plus
